When it's time to consider your next sedan that's going to help you get around the St. Charles, St. Louis, and O'Fallon area, there are numerous factors to inform your decision. Performance and safety are huge components to consider when you're interested in the 2017 Nissan Sentra, but technology has actually become one of the major benchmarks for drivers to use when making their decision. To help you, our team at St. Charles Nissan is going to show you the technology features of the 2017 Nissan Sentra.

In this review, we'll focus closely on the comfort and convenience technology, the entertainment technology, and even the safety technology. You'll see what features are available with the different trim levels. After reading this review, you'll know enough about the Nissan Sentra technology features that you'll be able to make your decision with ease.

2017 Nissan Sentra: Comfort & Convenience Technology

The Nissan Sentra and its trim levels come with a variety of features that add convenience to your daily driving. The base level Nissan Sentra S comes with Bluetooth® for hands-free communication, and a drive computer that informs you of your average speed, distance to empty, and even your average MPG. Once you upgrade to the SV or higher, you get the helpful Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant, which delivers your incoming text messages to the 5-inch display screen.

The Advanced Drive-Assist Display® is a more updated trip computer that provides you with important vehicle information and updates. If you upgrade to the Nissan Sentra SL or NISMO®, you get the NissanConnectSM with Navigation. This system not only provides you with turn-by-turn directions, but you can even use the Voice Recognition to select your destination or your audio entertainment.

Entertainment Technology

The Nissan Sentra S features a four-speaker sound system, while every other trim features a six-speaker sound system. Each trim level comes with an AM/FM radio, a CD player, and USB/auxiliary inputs for external media devices. The Nissan Sentra SV and higher all come with a three-month trial subscription of SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. The SV and higher trims feature the 5-inch display screen, but the SL features the 5.8-inch touchscreen.

Safety Technology

Every Nissan Sentra trim level comes with an advanced airbag system for the driver and front passenger. These airbags adjust their inflation to provide enough protection while reducing the risk of airbag-related injuries. There are even occupant sensors that prevent the airbags from deploying to an empty seat.

The vehicle also features a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. This feature notifies you when one or more of your tires is low on air. The Nissan SR and SL offer optional driver-assisting technology like the Forward Emergency Braking, but they come standard with the Blind Spot Warning and the Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
