In addition to being a way to grab a quick bite, enjoy the outdoors, or delight in a local festival or event, food trucks are also a great place to discover something new.

There's no limit to what can be served up on wheels! In fact, you could eat your way through an entire day at these three food trucks we love in the St. Louis area. Prepare to get hungry!

Breakfast: Vincent Van Doughnut

Vincent Van Doughnut handmakes artisanal doughnuts from scratch every day and sells them from 6am during the week and 7am on the weekends, until they're sold out, so don't wait to get in line. When we say they're made from scratch, we mean everything, including fillings, glazes, and toppings.

The truck (known lovingly as Clyde) is manned by Vincent Brian Marsden, the season-two winner of The Cooking Channel's Doughnut Showdown.

We love the French Toast Doughnut that comes with a maple and cinnamon glaze and is topped with pecans, walnuts, and a dusting of powdered sugar. If you want a classic, try their glazed doughnut. The Chocolate with Coffee is good too if you need a pick-me-up.

They also serve vegan and gluten free options, so there's something for everyone here. Plus, they deliver. Head over to their Facebook page to learn about weekly specials.

Lunch: 2girls 4wheels

St. Louis style cooking on wheels; What could be better? That's exactly what the veteran-owned 2girls 4wheels has been serving up since 2011, topped, every time, with a dollop of St. Louis love.

We can't get enough of the Budweiser Braised Brats, served with caramelized onions or sour kraut. Also, the Slow Roasted Pulled Pork Sandwich, served with homemade coleslaw on a Kaiser roll is what dreams are made of. The Turkey BLT is good, too, topped with bacon, arugula, tomato, balsamic vinegar glaze, and an avocado spread. You know what? It's all good! You really can't go wrong here.

Finish off with an STL favorite: Homemade Gooey Butter Cookies. Find them on Facebook for updates on truck location and local dogs to adopt.

Dessert: Sarah's Cake Stop

Sarah's Cake Stop has made life a little bit sweeter every day since it began selling confectionary delights on wheels in 2010 as an extension of the famous Sarah's Cake Shop, which opened its doors in 2004.

Our favorite treat is the Chocolate Cookie cupcake, which tops a chocolate cake with chocolate cookie frosting. If you want something fruity, try the Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake Cupcake, which covers a lemon blueberry cake in cheesecake frosting.

Be sure to leave a tip, because 100% (and then some) is donated to children's charities like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They also donate all unsold items at the end of the day to Circle of Concern Food Pantry.

To find the truck follow them on Facebook where they also post their daily specialties.

Meet These Trucks in St. Louis

The best part about these food trucks is that you don't have to pick just one! You can enjoy them all day and visit a different one for each meal. What are you waiting for? Track them down and go give 'em a try!
