As spring and summer draw closer, so does baseball season. The great American pastime appeals to the hearts and minds of those both young and young at heart. Whether you're entrenched in the game's deep-seated history or on the lookout for the next big hitter, baseball has something for you!
If you're gearing up for Opening Day at Busch Stadium, here's everything you need to know!
The 2020 home opener will take place on Thursday, April 6th. The game starts at 3:15, but you'll want to
get their early for festivities and player introductions.
One of the most exciting opening day traditions at Busch Stadium is the parade of the Budweiser Clydesdales. You'll get to watch as the legendary horses trot around the warning track only moments before the game. While we don't know for sure, we hope that this tradition will kick off the 2020 home opener as well.
Once the game begins, there are plenty of places in Busch Stadium to grab timeless game-time grub, like peanuts and hot dogs. You can also try one of the specialty burgers. Our favorite is the Taste of the Hill Burger. It's two patties smothered in marinara sauce, provolone cheese, and topped with two toasted raviolis.
Yadier Molina: He's been a fixture behind the plate
since 2004, so there's little doubt that we'll see him catching on opening day at Busch Stadium. Last season, he hit
10 homeruns and had a batting average of .270. He's also recorded a whopping 13,434 putouts over his career.
Lane Thomas: There are a few questions heading into opening day about who will step into the outfield. One player that looks promising is Lane Thomas. Last season, he recorded 12 RBIs and had a batting average of .316!
Jack Flaherty: Since the pitching rotation will be in full effect, we can't be sure who will take the mound for the home opener at Busch Stadium. One starter you'll want to watch is Jack Flaherty. He came out of last season with 11 wins, and he racked up 231 strikeouts!
Now that you know what to expect on opening day at Busch Stadium, the only thing left to ask is: Who's on first and what's on second?
Whether you're attending with the whole family or just a few friends, you'll be able to root for your favorite team and see some of your favorite players, so grab your tickets today!
