Why We Celebrate Earth Day
Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22, 1970, which spanned across college campuses, totaling in 20 million Americans celebrating through peaceful demonstrations. Today, Earth Day is celebrated by more than 193 different countries. The purpose of Earth Day is to spread awareness of our planet's fragile nature while showing support to the Environmental Protection Agency and other groups who work hard to benefit Earth. Each Earth Day aims to educate people about sustainability, the green movement, and the causes and effects of climate change.
St. Louis Earth Day Festival

Recycling Extravaganza

This event is for people to bring their hard-to-recycle items, such as light bulbs, bicycles, appliances, and any other materials that can be organized and recycled.
Get Involved
St. Louis Earth Day involves non-profit organizations that put on the festival and other events every year. While their efforts are valiant and noble, they need helpful hands to ensure that everything goes smoothly. Every year, they look for the help of volunteers, ages 18 and over. St. Louis Earth Day also accepts support through charitable donations. People who volunteer get a few perks like an Earth Day t-shirt, a special meal, and a party after the festival in May.
