Since making its debut, the Nissan Kicks has become a favorite among young professionals and families alike, so it's no surprise that drivers around St. Charles, O'Fallon, and Saint Peters are curious to know what's in store for the 2019 model.

The team at St. Charles Nissan took a look at the newest iteration of this SUV. Here's what we expect it to bring to the greater St. Louis area.1

2019 Nissan Kicks Powertrain

Word is still out on whether or not this SUV will receive a turbocharged engine option in 2019, however it's likely to continue with the 1.6L I-4 engine, at least in the base trim. This engine generates 125 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque.

Paired with a front-wheel drivetrain, the 1.6L engine is expected to make the Nissan Kicks a highly efficient SUV. This is especially true since it's expected to be a rather lightweight vehicle, weighing in at just over 2,600 pounds.

This SUV will also maximize its fuel economy by utilizing an Xtronic CVT® (continuously variable transmission), which provides smooth and efficient shifting. This transmission does away with the designated gears of a traditional automatic transmission, and instead provides almost infinite transitions between its lowest and highest point. The result is optimized performance and efficiency.

Nissan Kicks Exterior Design

The 2019 Nissan Kicks will continue to make a great first impression with its V-shaped architecture and honeycomb grille. This unique exterior naturally draws the eye up toward the roof, which appears to be floating thanks to the blacked-out pillars on either side.

You can further accent this feature by opting for one of five two-toned color options, including:

  • Super Black roof with Cayenne Red body
  • Monarch Orange roof with Gun Metallic body
  • Fresh Powder roof with Deep Blue Pearl body

In the Nissan Kicks Color Studio, you will be able to further customize your ride by choosing different colors for your side mirror cap, door handle cover, rear bumper accent, and more.

2019 Nissan Kicks Technology

The 2019 Nissan Kicks is expected to offer high-tech features to its drivers. In fact, every trim is expected to come standard with a 7-inch touchscreen and available Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, which fully integrate your smartphone with your car to keep you connected on-the-go.

This SUV will also offer several features to help make parking lot navigation much easier. The first is an available Intelligent Around View® Monitor that gives you a 360-degree view of the space around your car, including a view from the top.

If, for whatever reason, you don't see another car approaching while trying to reverse out of a parking spot, the available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system will help by issuing a warning that the car has entered your rear blind spot.
